Meaning:

Let us meditate in the lotus of the heart on Mother Sarada— Of golden hue;

Seated cross-legged;

Half of her dishevelled hair flowing down the chest;

Wrapped in white cloth;

Wearing golden bracelets;

With two palms crossed and resting in the lap;

Of steady gaze;

With visage beaming with grace;

And heart melting at the sorrows of living beings;

Radiant light of purity;

The bounteous;

Come for the good of all;

With life centred in Ramakrishna and mind ever delighting in his thought;

Veritably an embodiment of his ideas;

Manifestation of Universal Motherhood;

Overflowing with universal benevolence, goodness and peace;

Bestower of devotion and salvation;

Redeemer of all Jivas;

Giver of Divine Knowledge.

*This poem of Meditation is a composition of Swami Abhedananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna. He was a pioneer of Vedanta work in America in succession to Swami Vivekananda, and the author of several works on Vedanta. The English translation is by Swami Tapasyananda.
